How chip tuning works on a petrol Hyundai S-coupe
With a petrol engine the remap works through the ECU's ignition, fuelling and turbo boost tables. Re-calibrating them within safe limits releases power that is already there, rather than adding anything to the engine.
Hyundai S-coupe 1.5 T 115 against other S-coupe engines
Of the 2 petrol S-coupe engines in our data, this one comes 1st for power gain, which is 1 bhp above the S-coupe petrol average of 16 bhp.
Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 17 bhp and 39 Nm sits below that benchmark.
